Kennedy Canyon

Looking back up the steep hillside I came from. Lots of monsters in those trees down there...

Following the wonderful gift of dry trail, which somehow appeared at 10,500 feet!

Note to self: next time, camp here.

The alpenglow. Cameras will never do this alpine phenomenon justice.

Walking straight across the open cirques of snow, no sidehilling required.

Almost the exact same picture... but I couldn't decide which of the two to leave out... so they're both sticking around!

The gorgeous alpine moonscape.

Colorful bands of rock, how cool is that?!

The trail peeking out from under the snow with just enough consistency to keep me on my ass, taking snow gear on and off.

The first view of Highway 108 wayyyy down there, slightly to the upper right from the middle of the photo.

A look back on the first signs I'd seen since leaving Tuolumne Meadows.

Free helmet?

A much closer view of Highway 108 and Sonora Pass!!

Forcing the most excited face I could muster through the exhaustion at Epic Cafe.
