Agnew Meadows

Steve strapping his crampons back on as we found, surprise! More snow.

When 100 yards of hiking takes 45 minutes, there's plenty of time to take pictures across the canyon where the JMT runs parallel to the PCT.

Steve making his way across the wide open snow fields, headed to Thousand Island Lake.

A perfect suncup field... said no one ever.

Taking a break on the exposed rock slabs at the Thousand Island Lake outlet. Banner Peak in the background.

Thousand Island "Lake"... I promise there's a lake in there.

Steve making his way up the slushfest on Island Pass.

Beautiful, wind-twisted pines on Island Pass.

Banner and Ritter overlooking Steve make his way across the blunt crest of Island Pass.

On the north side of Island Pass, heading down into the trees to camp near Davis Creek.

Davis Creek. Just enough snowbridging left to get us across with dry feet. Can you spot the water-filtering Steve??

Camp at Davis Creek for the night.
