Middle Fork Junction

Amped strapping on crampons in the early morning.

Avalanche debris in Le Conte Canyon.

Le Conte Canyon and the raging Middle Fork of the Kings River.

An almost-dry bridge!

Junction to Bishop Pass. Walking by exit points always felt uneasy...

Here comes the sun, do do do do doo.

Here comes the sun, do do do do doo.

Can anyone guess whether or not Amped was wearing sunglasses in the Sierra??

Following along a much tamer Middle Fork, soon to disappear under the snow.

Heading above the treeline towards Muir Pass.

Our view for the afternoon, looking back on the way we came.

Stuffing my face and enjoying the day under our sun shelter. The reflection of the sun off the snow was still so intense, we had to keep sunglasses on!

Mr. Marmot looking for grass or maybe snacks...

Our rock island.

Our gear set up to cowboy camp until our 2 a.m. wakeup for Muir Pass.

Total mileage along the PCT: 836
